Connie M. Guion Award
The Connie M. Guion Award is given in honor of Dr. Connie M. Guion, by Mr. and Mrs. J. Wilson Newman and their daughters, Clare Newman Blanchard, Class of 1960, and Mildred Newman Thayer, Class of 1961. The award is given to a member of the graduating class for her excellence as a human being and as a member of the College.
Penelope Czarra Award
The Penelope Czarra Award is given to honor the senior who best exemplifies the combination of scholastic achievement, student leadership, and effective contributions to the improvement of the quality of student life at Sweet Briar.
Walker Family Award
The Walker Family Award is given to honor the senior with an above average academic standing (min.GPA 3.0), who best possesses the spirit of the Walker family; a cheerful, positive disposition, showing warmth, generosity, and humility in her relationships.
Opening Convocation Awards
Mary Kendrick Benedict Award
To honor an upper-class student of high academic standing and personal integrity, who has shown a purpose for service in her college experience.
One or more members of the rising sophomore class who best demonstrates potential for leadership, academic excellence, and community involvement.
Mary Mackintosh Sherer Award
Given to a rising junior who is both a leader and a scholar, and who performs her duties with dignity, fairness and devotion to Sweet Briar.
Manson Memorial Scholarship
Given to an upper-class student of high academic standing who shows qualities of leadership, and makes some real contribution to the student activities.
